The case for and against

Updated Oct 17, 2026

Bull case

REalloys is attractive because it is building a vertically integrated North American mine-to-magnet supply chain outside China, with existing assets and partnerships such as SRC and PMT Critical Metals that reduce execution friction and could accelerate commercialization. Its outlook is further strengthened by the $100M equity raise, about $43M of unrestricted cash as of 3/31, and the reported selection to enter exclusive lease negotiations with the U.S. Army, which validates its defense-market positioning and supports balance-sheet flexibility. With expected capital expenditures of roughly $60M between now and the end of 2027, plus project-financing interest from the Export-Import Bank of the United States and DoW support ahead of the January 2027 prohibition, the company appears well positioned to capture demand in protected markets.

Bear case

REalloys is exposed to meaningful execution risk because its bear case depends on a modest reversal in the move to decouple the rare earth magnet supply chain from China, while capacity ramp complexities could push the EBITDA inflection further out and compress the valuation multiple. Demand may also grow more slowly if defense industry groups secure more time to meet the January 1, 2027 deadline banning Chinese-origin rare earth magnets, reducing the near-term urgency for customers to switch suppliers. As a development-stage single-platform company serving protected markets, REalloys still lacks the operating scale and demonstrated ramp needed to offset these policy and manufacturing uncertainties.
