The case for and against

Updated Oct 18, 2026

Bull case

AngioDynamics is supported by a stronger mix shift toward higher-margin Med Tech, where Auryon posted its 21st consecutive quarter of double-digit growth to $18.9M in F1Q27 and Mechanical Thrombectomy continued to gain traction with AlphaVac and AngioVac sales of $4.5M and $7.5M. Its fundamentals are reinforced by an in-line $80.9M revenue quarter, gross margin of 57.8% excluding tariff refunds, and improved operating cash flow margin to -18.9% from -21.1%, alongside expectations for positive cash flow from operations for FY27 and no debt. Ongoing clinical and regulatory catalysts, including APEX-Return, PAVE, AMBITION BTK, RECOVER-AV, and NanoKnife reimbursement progress, should help expand physician adoption, support broader indication expansion, and sustain growth across the business.

Bear case

AngioDynamics is facing a bearish setup because its core growth engine remains uneven: NanoKnife revenue was only $8.3M, with disposable sales of $6.7M missing estimates despite 29% year-over-year growth, and management said capital revenue will likely stay inconsistent while disposables are the real measure of success. The company is also dealing with pressure on margins and cash generation, as it ended August 2026 with just $34.0M in cash and posted $(15.3)M in operating cash flow in F1Q27, while management expects lower gross margins in the second half of FY2027 and still targets R&D near 10% of sales. Even with positive operating cash flow expected for FY2027 and some reimbursement progress, the outlook is weighed down by seasonal volatility, slower MedTech growth risk, divestiture uncertainty in Med Device, competition, and potential dilution risk.
