The case for and against

Updated Oct 14, 2026

Bull case

Arvinas is well positioned because the VEPPANU approval and Rigel partnership removed a major commercial overhang while adding $85M upfront, up to $320M in milestones, and 50/50 shared royalties, giving the company capital to reinvest in its wholly owned pipeline. With cash runway into 2H28 and stock still trading near cash with near-zero enterprise value, downside appears limited while several value-inflecting catalysts could arrive over the next 12-18 mos, especially as four Phase 1 programs are on track to generate data in 2026. Fundamental upside is further supported by ARV-102’s >50% CSF LRRK2 degradation and clean safety profile, plus early-stage but differentiated HPK1, AR, and polyQ-AR programs that expand its platform beyond one asset.

Bear case

Arvinas is exposed to significant clinical and regulatory risk, because unfavorable trial data could halt or suspend development of its targeted protein degradation agents, and regulators may still refuse approval despite ongoing investment. Its dependence on third-party CMOs also creates a manufacturing bottleneck that could delay or interrupt clinical trials and later commercialization, limiting execution across the pipeline. In addition, intense competition in breast cancer, potential patent challenges, and the need for reliable external funding to advance assets through development all threaten profitability and cash flow generation.
