The case for and against

Updated Oct 21, 2026

Bull case

BRC is well positioned fundamentally because it is delivering strong top-line growth across wholesale and direct-to-consumer, with 1Q26 revenue of $109.2M up 21.4% year over year and wholesale up 31.5% as ACV and energy drink doors expanded. Its profitability outlook is also improving as expense leverage drove EBITDA to $7.3M, or 6.7% of sales, well above consensus despite gross margin pressure from temporary costs and coffee inflation. Looking ahead, management’s 2026 guide for at least 8% sales growth and at least 35% EBITDA growth appears conservative, while lower coffee prices in 2027 should support gross margins as hedges roll off.

Bear case

BRC is still growing packaged coffee faster than the industry, with Nielsen-tracked sales up 26.8% for the 4-weeks ending June 13th versus 8.0% industry growth, and its 29.0% increase through nearly all of 2Q26 suggests share gains remain intact. However, the growth rate has slowed from 30%-31% in the prior two months, and much of the improvement comes from volume rather than pricing, implying less leverage and potentially weaker profitability. The outlook remains negative because the RTD business, which is about 25% of sales, is still under pressure from lower industry volumes, leaving the company dependent on a packaged coffee mix that is growing but not yet offsetting broader category weakness.
