The case for and against

Updated Oct 16, 2026

Bull case

Corbus Pharmaceuticals is attractive because CRB-913 showed a credible 5% mean weight loss at 60 mg by 12 weeks with no serious TRAEs, no suicidality, and only mild to moderate GI and psychiatric events, suggesting a differentiated, peripherally restricted CB1 mechanism that may avoid the historical toxicity of earlier agents. The obesity program also has commercial optionality, since the data support a possible monotherapy or incretin-combination role in a market where many patients do not respond to, tolerate, or remain on treatment with oral GLP-1s. Beyond obesity, CRB-701 adds a second catalyst with confirmed ORR of 42.9% in OPSCC and manageable safety across a 317-patient population, while TEMPO-1 and the September topline readout provide near-term validation paths.

Bear case

Corbus Pharmaceuticals is viewed negatively because its valuation rests on early-development assumptions that are highly sensitive to clinical success, regulatory approval, and future commercialization, all of which remain unproven for CRB-701 and CRB-913. The company also faces meaningful financing risk, since it may need additional equity funding to finish development, while competition from better-resourced biotech peers could pressure both market opportunity and execution. Even with modeled FY34 GAAP EPS of $7.90 and an NPV-based framework, the outlook is constrained by the possibility that efficacy, safety, or sales estimates fail to materialize.
