The case for and against

Updated Oct 17, 2026

Bull case

Forward Industries is attractive because it combines scale, disciplined capital allocation, and direct exposure to Solana’s network economics, with 7,807,022 SOL representing roughly 1.35% of supply and SOL-per-fully-diluted-share rising to 0.0754 as of 8/3 from 0.06694 on March 31. The September 2025 $1.65 billion PIPE, led by Galaxy Digital, Jump Crypto, and Multicoin Capital, enabled the company to acquire about 6.8 million SOL at an average price of $232.08, while the recent pause in ATM issuance suggests management is prioritizing accretive growth over dilution when shares trade below NAV. Its top-tier validator status, 0% commission staking infrastructure, fwdSOL liquid staking token, and newly added OnRe exposure create multiple paths for compounding yields and diversifying cash flows beyond passive SOL ownership.

Bear case

Forward Industries is fundamentally dependent on SOL appreciation and sustained equity premiums, yet SOL has been one of 2026’s worst performers, down about 42% YTD, while Solana’s fee generation and DEX activity have weakened sharply despite growth in users and RWAs. Its DAT model is structurally fragile because accretive accumulation requires receptive capital markets, and a premium-to-NAV collapse would impair issuance, trigger discount-driven buybacks, and break the flywheel that supports valuation. At the company level, the legacy design business is being overtaken by staking and validator revenue, but that shift also increases exposure to SOL price volatility, ETF competition, and operational execution risk in a crowded, reflexive crypto market.
