The case for and against

Updated Oct 17, 2026

Bull case

Invesco is positioned well because its $2.562 trillion AUM base is broad, with 72% from retail, 28% from institutional, and a diversified mix across equity, fixed-income, alternatives, and money market products that should help stabilize flows through cycles. The outlook is further supported by nearly half of AUM in passive products, a top-10 US retail fund complex, and meaningful international exposure across Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, which together create multiple avenues for organic growth. Fundamentals also look constructive as estimates were raised to $0.63 for 2Q, $2.62 for 2026, and $3.03 for 2027 on better market returns, improved net flows, operating leverage, and the accretive impact of QQQ AUM starting Dec 2025.

Bear case

Invesco is exposed to significant earnings volatility because its $2.562 trillion in AUM is heavily tied to equity markets, with 62% in equities and close to half in passive products that can face fee pressure and flow sensitivity. Its global footprint adds risk, as 31% of AUM comes from Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, leaving results vulnerable to foreign exchange translation, especially in Canadian dollar, GBP, and EUR exposure. Further downside stems from counterparty reliance and the possibility that market turbulence or reversion in long-term flows, notably from AsiaPac and/or IGW units, could prevent operating leverage and delay capital return.
