The case for and against

Updated Oct 14, 2026

Bull case

Lattice Semiconductor is benefiting from strong core execution, with 1Q revenue of $171M, non-GAAP EPS of $0.41, and a 70% gross margin, all above expectations, while 2Q guidance of $185M and $0.44 signals continued momentum. Its outlook is further strengthened by surging Server/AI demand, where data center revenue reached 38% of sales and AI is expected to reach 25% this year, supported by expanding FPGA content per server, higher ASPs, and bookings extending into 2027. The AMI acquisition adds platform firmware and infrastructure manageability capabilities, is expected to generate $200M+ in FY26, and should be immediately accretive to gross margin, free cash flow, and EPS while doubling SAM from $6B to $12B over 3-4 years.

Bear case

Lattice Semiconductor is facing a negative outlook because its growth depends heavily on AI exposure and hyperscaler capex, both of which could slow and limit revenue expansion, especially as the company targets only mid- to high-20% exposure. Its new Nexus and Avant platforms must ramp quickly to drive ASP gains and secure design wins, but any delay would mute growth and weaken estimate revisions, while competition from AMD (Xilinx), Altera, Microchip, and Chinese suppliers adds further pressure. The company’s limited scale and cyclical semiconductor end markets increase execution risk, and slower 5G, cloud, auto, and industrial ramps, inventory buildups, or tariff-related demand destruction could compound downside.
