The case for and against

Updated Oct 18, 2026

Bull case

Patrick Industries is positioned favorably because it continues to execute well across diversified end markets even as RV remains weak, with Marine revenue up 22% and Powersports up 28% on content gains, share wins, and innovation. The business is also showing resilience in key financial metrics, as management cited 500 bps of gross margin gains versus FY19, diluted EPS up 65%, and EBITDA margins up 150 bps, while 2Q26 net sales were effectively flat despite lower RV volumes. Its outlook is further supported by expanding content per unit, affordability initiatives, and the potential for about $150 million of annual synergies from the LCI merger, which could improve scale, margins, and long-term cash generation.

Bear case

Patrick Industries is facing a weaker fundamental backdrop as management cut CY26 RV shipment expectations to 285k-300k units from 315k-330k and now sees retail demand declining at a low-double-digit rate, with operating margin expansion reset to flat year over year. The company also reduced operating cash flow guidance to $320M-$350M from $370M-$390M and free cash flow to about $250M from about $300M, highlighting softer end-market demand, higher working capital needs, and margin pressure from mix shift to value products and affordability constraints. Risks remain elevated from customer concentration, channel inventories, raw material inflation, and potential deal complications, while MH and RV outlooks were also lowered despite more stable Marine and Powersports trends.
