The case for and against

Updated Oct 17, 2026

Bull case

Rollins is supported by a durable pest-control model with ~80%+ customer retention, contracted recurring revenue, positive annual pricing of ~3-4%, and low/negative working capital plus modest capex that together underpin strong free cash conversion and ~25% EBITDA margins. Its scale is a key advantage, with about ~20% U.S. share and ~10% global share, while Orkin’s near-national coverage and the broader brand portfolio provide reach across residential and commercial channels. Although 2Q26 revenue growth of 6.6% to $486m and residential organic growth of 3.6% showed some softness from consumer-initiated leads, commercial organic growth of 7.2% remained resilient, and improving lead trends, cross-selling, upselling, and disciplined M&A support a constructive long-term outlook.

Bear case

Rollins is facing a weakened fundamental setup because organic revenue has missed its 7%-8% target for three consecutive quarters, with Q2 organic growth of 5.7% again falling short and forcing full-year growth expectations down to 6% while incremental margins were cut to 10% from 25%-30%. The weakness appears most acute in Residential lead volumes tied to Orkin and digital lead generation, where agentic-AI search results seem to favor smaller, local competitors, and that risk is compounded by rising private-equity consolidation that is intensifying competition across the pest-control market. Margin pressure from a cost structure built for stronger demand, coupled with Q2 adjusted EBITDA margin of 21.9% and EPS of $0.32 below estimates, suggests limited visibility on a near-term rebound.
