The case for and against

Updated Oct 16, 2026

Bull case

Similarweb is attractive because its differentiated digital data asset and SaaS platform address a large, expanding TAM as commerce continues shifting toward digital channels. The company is showing improving sales execution, stronger pipeline quality, and larger enterprise wins, with 2Q26 contracts adding about $47M of TCV and ARR surpassing $300M, while RPO rose 26% year over year to $345.3mm and 66% of ARR is now multi-year. Its outlook is further supported by AI-driven usage expansion, improving NRR at 107% for $100K+ customers, and a leaner GTM structure that should allow incremental revenue to flow through to margins and cash generation.

Bear case

Similarweb is viewed negatively because the recent revenue growth acceleration may reflect easy comparisons and reduced downsell rather than durable demand, with growth potentially normalizing near 10%. Macroeconomic headwinds could weaken sales cycles, lower close rates, and increase churn, while management’s FY26 outlook—about $150M of revenue across 1H and $160M across 2H—already reflected conservative assumptions and limited visibility into multi-year deals. The business also faces structural risks from dependence on contributory data networks, changing search algorithms, and foreign-exchange pressure in F2Q that could slow profitability expansion, especially as the majority of revenue comes from the United States.
