The case for and against

Updated Oct 14, 2026

Bull case

Vor Biopharma is viewed positively because telitacicept targets a large, underpenetrated B-cell autoimmune market, with Vor estimating about 380K diagnosed US patients in gMG or Sjögren’s disease and more than 1M potential patients after indication expansion. The asset already has commercial and clinical validation in China, where it is approved in SLE in 2021, RA in 2024, and gMG in 2025, while the NEJM-published TELIGAN interim data showed a 55.0% placebo-adjusted UPCR reduction at week 39, preserved eGFR, and fewer serious adverse events. Outside China, Vor retains exclusive rights in major regions and is advancing two global Phase 3 UPSTREAM studies, with gMG topline data expected in 1H27 and Sjögren’s dosing begun in 1Q26, supporting multiple catalysts.

Bear case

Vor Biopharma is a clinical-stage company with no revenues in 1Q26 and a $5.11 per share net loss, underscoring a business model still dependent on future telitacicept success rather than current cash generation. Although it held about $491.5M in cash and short-term marketable securities at the end of 1Q26, that runway into early 2029 does not eliminate major clinical, regulatory, commercial, collaboration, dilution, and legal risks. The negative outlook reflects the possibility that telitacicept may fail to prove sufficiently efficacious or safe, may not reach sales expectations, and could face competition or manufacturing and shipment setbacks.
