The case for and against

Updated Oct 21, 2026

Bull case

Webull is viewed positively because its core franchise is compounding through strong organic asset growth, rising customer engagement, and a broader monetization mix, even amid short-term trust-related noise. Q2 revenues reached $199M, up 51% year over year and 24% quarter over quarter, while adjusted operating profit rose to $63M with a 31.5% margin, supported by customer assets of about $29B and 5.13M funded accounts. Its valuation also appears compelling versus peers, with the stock trading near all-time lows and around 1x FY27 sales by one estimate, despite faster growth, meaningful operating leverage, and additional upside from international expansion and PDT-driven trading activity.

Bear case

Webull is burdened by a weak fundamental setup because its trading and interest-related revenues are highly exposed to retail volumes, volatility, and interest rates, leaving earnings vulnerable when market activity softens. The House Select Committee report intensified reputational risk by alleging structural ties to the PRC, China-based operations, and data-routing concerns, while the stock’s nearly 30% drop and 18% decline underscore how easily investor confidence can erode. Governance is also a concern, with founder Anquan Wang controlling more than 80% of voting power, and the company’s dependence on China-based R&D, cybersecurity-sensitive infrastructure, and heavy marketing spending creates a fragile risk/reward profile.
