The case for and against

Updated Oct 18, 2026

Bull case

National Energy Services is supported by accelerating Middle East activity, with Jafurah, Saudi rig growth, and multiyear tender visibility driving an expected revenue run-rate of at least $2B and a longer-term push toward $3B. Its operating momentum is being reinforced by strong execution, including adjusted EBITDA of about $106M in Q2, roughly 16% above the Street, and about $100M of free cash flow that reduced net debt to roughly $100M. The balance sheet is improving fast enough to support a quarterly dividend starting in Q4 while the company still has room to expand through high-tech Kuwait awards, a top-3 regional frac position, and resilient demand across the MENA footprint.

Bear case

National Energy Services is facing a weaker fundamental setup because the Middle East slowdown, including East-West pipeline disruption in Saudi Arabia, is pushing the regional recovery into 2027 and muting 4Q26 activity across offshore and onshore rigs. Although management is still targeting $2 billion of 2026 revenue, softer 3Q26 performance and a delayed 4Q26 inflection from the 5th frac fleet in Jafurah suggest EBITDA margins may retrench toward 20.5%, below the 21.3% or flat y/y guide. The stock also appears exposed to execution and macro risks, including market-share gains, integration of NPS and GES, and valuation near 8x consensus 2026 EBITDA of about $394 million despite limited visibility on demand.
