The case for and against

Updated Oct 17, 2026

Bull case

Riskified is benefiting from a sharp reacceleration in growth, with 2Q revenue up 22% y/y to $98.7 million, GMV reaching $41.3 billion, and adjusted EBITDA of $3.9 million aided by operating discipline and a lower share count. Its outlook is strengthened by broad-based new-logo momentum, a net dollar expansion rate near 105%, and rapid Digital Finance growth of 180% y/y, which expands the addressable market beyond core e-commerce into prediction markets, sports betting, digital wallets, and payments. Management’s raised FY26 revenue guide to $400 million-$410 million, along with $224 million in cash and investments and no debt, supports confidence in sustained top-line growth, margin expansion over time, and continued buybacks.

Bear case

Riskified is vulnerable to revenue concentration, with its top five merchants still representing 32% of revenue in 2025, so any churn or spending slowdown at a few large customers could materially pressure growth. Its core chargeback guarantee model also creates direct liability if fraud decisioning is inaccurate, while a highly competitive fraud-prevention market and the need to keep pace with evolving technology raise execution risk. Although revenue growth is expected to outpace GMV as take rate stays around ~24bp, that benefit could be offset by macro weakness, regulatory changes, and new fraud surfaces from agentic commerce and personal AI agents.
